An A+ Experience in Every Way

There are no words to describe the change in my brother after arriving at Millview!  He had a stay in the hospital and a stay at a nursing home after a near death experience. He had no interest in life. Millview took a chance on him as his rehabilitation was slow! Today with the care and understanding provided by the staff at Millview, he is a different person!!!  He is happy!!! Millview is well kept, seasonally decorated and has a feeling of home. My brother comments that the staff knows everyone as an individual person. He is impressed with the individual care each resident receives. Millview gets an A+ from both of us!!

A Smooth Transition and Exceptional Care

Choosing Millview for our Mom’s care was a very hard decision. However, within a short timeframe, we could tell she was welcomed into Millview’s family very gently for a smooth transition . The ENTIRE Millview staff is wonderful, from kitchen chefs and wait staff, to nursing, activity staff, hairdresser, maintenance, and administration. The staff all works together so nicely, and really shows compassion for all the residents. It is also a very clean facility. The home is always festive and decorated for all holidays and seasons. You will not be disappointed if you have your loved one join the Millview Assisted Home.

For over six years, the kind people who staff Millview assisted living facility have taken good care of my mother, and we are forever grateful. She is in a comfortable room, gets regular nutritious meals and plenty of snacks. Millview never fails to offer a variety of activities for residents and provides plenty of opportunities for outside socialization. Staff make themselves available to speak with family who have questions or concerns. We are so happy to have found Millview.

Incredible Staff

Exceptional Care for My Dad

As most can imagine, being faced with the reality that your loved one needs more care than you can provide is one of the most difficult situations you will ever find yourself in. Often it will be a first for you with a tremendous amount of uncertainty and stress about what to do first and how you’ll ever make it through. The main concern will likely be finding the right place for your loved one. I sought out resources and spent countless hours researching how to navigate through the process. I feel very fortunate to have found Millview of Latham. I can’t say enough about the kind caring staff there. They genuinely care about what they are doing there. They are responsive and communicate well. Millview is clean and well maintained. Assisted living facilities can be measured by their residents and here you’ll find a happy, well fed well adjusted social community. I am so grateful to all the staff there at Millview, they offer tremendous peace of mind for me and exceptional care for my Dad!

Hands Down the Best Place

Choosing a place for both my mother and father was by far the hardest decision I’ve ever made. Not only for me, but especially for them. After taking care of them at home for ten years, I could no longer provide the 24 hour care they both needed. I knew it would be a difficult transition for all of us, but it was time. I began searching for a place, but was just not impressed by any of the facilities I visited. Then I found Millview, and my prayers were answered. In my head there was no one who would care for them like I did, but Millview proved me wrong! It was clear on my very first visit that I found the “family” that would take over for me. It was exactly the same environment I had provided all these years, and to be honest, so much more. The staff knew I was nervous about this decision and they immediately showed me the same kind of care and respectful attention that I desperately wanted for my parents.

On this initial visit they showed me empathy and compassion, and acknowledged my reasons for needing to make this change. They put me at ease. As I toured Millview I saw example after example of how the staff treated their residents. There was music playing, lively activities, and a deep respect for the individual level of care each resident needed. No one was just sitting alone in their room. They were encouraged to come out and participate and to socialize. Something I knew would be so important to both my parents. And something I had not seen in other facilities. As I walked around there was the most delicious smell in the air. I met the chef who carefully plans and cooks every meal. It was clear she truly cares about food and providing not only nutritious, but delicious food! Yet another thing I couldn’t find in any other facility. And being Italian, meals are a very important part of our day and I knew my parents would love it. The decision was easy and the transition even easier.

My parents were welcomed, and to this day are know to all as “mom and dad”; the names they called each other, and now the names the staff calls them. We put them in a suite and decorated it just like home. They love their “apartment” (it’s the perfect size), and its private bath and shower. And I love the housekeeping staff that cleans their apartment and bathroom, and makes their bed every day. This level of attention and cleanliness was another thing that is incredibly important to all of us. Sadly my dad passed away this summer. He was loved, cared for and watched over his entire time at Millview. And the staff were affected by his death as deeply as we were. They continue to say his name and keep his memory alive every day. And now they watch over my mother even more closely than before, if that’s even possible. Their constant communication is something that amazes me every day. They’re on top of every issue and every need, and I truly don’t know how they do it. If you’re thinking of Millview for your loved one, don’t hesitate. The amount of love, attention and care they’ll receive is priceless.

My mother has been at Millview for just over a year. Her placement there could not have occurred at a worse time. She was only there a few weeks when COVID hit and they went on lockdown. As heartbreaking as it is not to see her, I know that Millview has been on top of this situation and I am confident that they are keeping my mother and the other residents safe and healthy. The staff keeps me apprised of everything concerning my mom and they are very caring and nurturing. They try to have activities as best as they can in between quarantines and my mother enjoys them. I am optimistic that she will settle in when this situation resolves itself. And I look forward to visiting her in her room and taking her out for various activities. Keep up the great work!

my mom spent 5 wonderful years at Millview

We needed to find a reputable assisted living facility for my mother. So my husband, myself and mom set out one day to visit a few of them. We looked at and toured two places. They were nice but large. Mom had Alzheimer’s and I was hoping to find some place she could navigate because of its unique design. We continued to our last place on the list, Millview Homes. As soon as we walked in the door a very friendly receptionist welcomed us. The lobby was homey, had a fireplace and a big grand father clock. Excellent. Right away I rated the entranceway a 10. Robin sage was there to greet us and give us a tour. Robin was an excellent host, introduced us to the director, nurses and other staff. Millview was just the right size and on one floor and rectangular (no getting lost here). The rooms are clean and the staff is very friendly. The dining room is nicely lighted. It has plenty of space to accommodate wheelchairs and walkers and the people who serve the residents. Hallways are wide and rooms have large windows with plenty of natural light. I spoke to a couple of the residents. They were enthusiastic and said they liked living at Millview Homes.

My mom spent five wonderful years at Millview Homes. She enjoyed talking to the residents. Everyone on the staff was very kind and patient. I was extremely pleased with the care and enjoyed the special barbecue in the spring and beautiful Christmas party in December. I also found the entertainment fun and praiseworthy. I even asked Robin if she would save a room for me when I became a senior citizen.

My dad was a resident of Millview for four years. During this time we had a great relationship with the staff at Millview. They kept us informed on a constant basis of any concerns they had regarding my dad. The facility was very clean, the rooms were spacious and bright. During this difficult time with social distancing and the coronavirus I wanted to write to you and your personnel to thank you for the great care you and your staff are providing for my mother and the other residents of Millview. My family and I are very confident that every precaution is being taken to keep my mother safe.

In general I would like to commend the employees for the care they have provided for my mother of the last five years. She is so well looked after. I feel each one treats her like she is their own mother. She is included in all the daily activities. She enjoys her meals. Her room is lovely. No matter what time of day someone in the family stops to see my mother, everyone is aware of where she is and what she is doing. That alone is reassuring to us.

There is constant communication with your staff in regards to doctors’ appointments, concerns about my mother, or if she needs anything. We know all her wants are being met and in a timely fashion.

Peace of mind is worth an awful lot. The family has that peace of not worrying about our 97 year old matriarch of the family. I thank each and everyone of you for allowing us that comfort.

a great choice for us

Our mom has been at Millview for about 5 years. After coming back to New York State from Texas, we sought out a smaller more intimate place for her to live. This suited us because it was so close. The transition took time, but with the help and friendliness of all staff it eventually worked out. They are available when she needs assistance an upbeat encouraging when she needs only that. The trips out is something she has not chosen to do as we take her out, but she attends and enjoys the activities that interest her. Bingo is a favorite. We also enjoy the family activities such as Christmas celebration that is held for resident and their family. It is great having staff that bring her medications to her and also someone for when she is not feeling well. The kitchen staff and cooks also work with the residents within their ability to make sure everyone is eating in maintaining good hydration. Their interest in them is evident as they quickly learn about all new residents. As they make friends with other residents, you can see them cheering each other on. The small out of the way facility was an excellent choice for us.

excellent care and attention

On behalf of my family, I want to thank you all for the excellent care and attention you gave to my mom while she resided at Millview. Mom loved everything about living there. She made lots of friends with both residents and staff. I know mom felt safe and loved by everyone.

Being a small yet vibrant community, Millview was the perfect place for my mom. She go to know the residents, especially her tablemates, and loved all the staff, especially Juanita and Olivia. Mom enjoyed all the activities and musical programs she participated in. Everyone happily embraced her and made her feel welcomed from the very beginning of her stay.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your dedication and devotion to make mom’s remaining time a joyous one.

my father thoroughly enjoyed his time at Millview

I would like to let you know how much my father enjoyed his stay at Millview. He enjoyed the many conversations with everyone and the special attention he received. He was very pleased with the fact that he enjoyed certain foods for breakfast and it was allowed and served. The bingo and ice cream socials were events that he also enjoyed.

One of his biggest events were his trips to the casino in Saratoga. This is a time that pleased him immensely. I believe he may have gotten many of the other residents excited too.

He thoroughly enjoyed his time at Millview and will miss everyone there. Thank you and your staff for making my father’s stay a pleasant one.

Pleased with the love and care

On behalf of our family I would like to express how pleased we’ve been over the past 6 years with the love and care that our parents have received. The staff has treated us like family and made it very comfortable for our loved ones and for family when we visit. There are always fun activities to participate in and good healthy meals. It’s always an anxious time choosing a place for your aging family members that need assistance later on in life, but Millview has more than put to rest any uneasiness we may have had.

Best regards to our Millview family as we move west. You’ll all be missed.
